1. Implementing Design Activity Program (Project Approach)
Our school emphasizes on nurturing the child’s interest in learning and spirit of exploration in their acquisition of knowledge. Based on the child’s interest, ability and life experience, we use the Design Activity Program (Project Approach) to create an explorative environment in encouraging the child in self-study. For example, in the activity shown below, children learn about dumplings by making them and tasting different types of dumplings. In the arts activity, we ask children to make a dumpling model by clay. We decorate the classroom as Ka Fuk Restaurant and have the children role-play as restaurant workers selling dumplings. The goal is that children would gain knowledge in the process of exploration, thus encouraging them to take initiative in their learning.
2. Implementing Holistic Innovative Education
Our school implements Holistic Innovative Education, using Happy Learning, Total Brain Multi-Senses Learning, Structural Teaching, People Based Teaching by integrating educational psychology, drama teaching methods and total brain learning methods. During the learning activity process, teachers use co-operative learning, give positive feedback, present multi-level questions, encourage participation and implement multi-dimentional teaching elements. In this way, children actively learn and work co-operatively with others and are willing to confidently share what they have learned.
3. MELS English Program and English Reading Program
Our school uses the MELS English Program to train children to master phonics skills, to sound out words when reading and to nurture children in speaking and listening in English. Moreover, throughout the school year, ten books will be read, which will enrich children in English learning experience, thus promoting child’s interest in English reading and share reading with family and friends confidently.
4. Physical Fitness Program
Our school values the physical development of children. There are daily physical training exercises in which the whole school participates. The physical fitness coach arranges a foundational physical exercise training program and activities, such as mini-tennis, to promote children’s interest in physical fitness. Through a systematic physical training program that enhances the functions of the heart and lungs. We focus on muscle fitness and flexibility, muscle and nerve relaxation and body formation, thus encouraging the habit of physical exercise, for health living.
5. Implementing the Orff Schulwerk Music Program
Our school believes in the importance of developing children musically. We implement the Orff Schulwerk Music Program and Music Appreciation Program to enrich children in the sense of rhythm, singing, basic music theory and in music appreciation. In this way, children are wholly developed in the area of music. We also provide a wide variety of musical experiences for children, so they can touch, feel and appreciate music in different ways and, desire to study and create music in the future.
6. Religious Program
Our school knows the importance of learning the Word of God at a young age. Through the teaching of Bible stories from teachers, children are able to understand biblical truth and discuss how to practice it in their daily lives. Teachers teach children the memory verses in the Bible, how to pray and to have self-control under the leading of the Holy Spirit, thus encouraging children to imitate Jesus Christ in all they do.
7. Multi-Intelligence Program
The school hires professional teachers to implement multi-intelligence programs that children can enjoy equally without paying extra fees. The multi-intelligence programs are held daily in the afternoon. An example of the afternoon programs is as follows:

8. Implementing Bi-literacy and Tri-lingualism
(Bi-literacy: Chinese and English, Tri-lingualism: Cantonese, Putonghua and English)
Our school hires native English teachers to provide English lessons for children, so children can learn proper English through a rich language environment and interesting activities. We also have a native Putonghua teacher from Liaoning Province, China who has a Putonghua Teacher Certificate which is jointly offered by Teacher University of Beijing and the Continual Education College of Hong Kong Baptist University. This gives children the opportunity to learn proper Putonghua and provides a better foundation of Putonghua learning for students.
9. On-Site Field Trip and Outings
Our school frequently arranges field trips and outings for the children, so they have the opportunity to personally explore the real environment of a related topic, thus increasing their understanding of society and nature.
